Mumbai-Pune Expressway turns death trap for 17

In a shocking incident near about 17 people has been killed and about 21 other persons were injured when a speeding luxury bus ramped in to two private vehicles on the busy Mumbai-Pune Expressway (E-way) near Panvel on early Sunday morning.

According to reports given by Maharashtra State Highway control, the incident took place near Shendug curve on the Mumbai-Pune Expressway at around 4 am.

In initial investigation reports on the incident suggests that a Swift car tyre got puncture which force car to stop on the E-way for repair help.

Later another private Innova car stopped to provide assistance to the Swift car.

But few minutes later an speeding luxury private bus ramped first into Innova car from behind. Both the bus and Innova together hit the Swift car which was standing their for puncture got repaired and all the three vehicles fall down into a 40-foot deep ditch.

At-least 10 passengers were killed on the spot and seven other injured people were declared brought dead to a private hospital were they were taken for emergency treatment.

Those who were killed among the victims were eight women, six children’s and three minor girls.

Most of the victims were from Satara, Thane, Pune, Navi Mumbai and Mumbai.

The incident creates panic among the nearby passing peoples on E-way which later took the shape of traffic jam.

Rest of the injured were also taken for treatment in near by hospital and police is further investigating into the matter.
