New Delhi: The wife of cricketer turned politician Navjot Singh Sidhu, Navjot Kaur Sidhu today joined Congress along with former hockey Olympian Pargat Singh.

When media persons asked about that entry of her husband in the party, she said: “We are like one soul in two bodies. The body has to follow the soul.”

On other hand, Punjab Congress President Captain Amarinder Singh said, “If Mrs Sidhu is here, do you think Mr Sidhu is not going to come with us (Congress)?”

Amarinder said while talking to media persons, “I have not met him yet and I have not spoken to him. He is still in Mumbai: when he comes to Delhi we will discuss the matter.”

This is new development from Navjot Kaur Sidhu side as she met the Congress high command in New Delhi last week regarding her joining the party and that too few months before the Punjab assembly election earlier next year.

Mrs Sidhu resigned from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on October 8th. She represented Amritsar East constituency in the Punjab assembly. She is also a former Chief Parliamentary Secretary of the Punjab government.

Pargat Singh was earlier associated Jalandhar Cantt constituency in the state assembly with the ruling Shiromani Akali Dal in Punjab.
