Navjot Singh Sidhu needs time to join AAP: Arvind Kejriwal

New Delhi: Ahead of the upcoming polls in Punjab, the Bhartiya Janata Party got a major jolt after MP Navjot Singh Sidhu resigned from the party. Ever since then, there have been rumors that Sidhu would soon join the ‘Aam Aadmi Party’ and thereby become the party’s face in Punjab Polls. However, putting an end to all these rumors, Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal said that the former cricketer needs time to think about the same.

Kejriwal talked about his meet with Navjot last week and further wrote that he had respect for the politician. He also said that it was Sidhu’s decision to quit BJP and that it would be his decision whether to join AAP or not.

Apart from this, reports are that Sidhu demanded chief ministerial candidature in Punjab which was thereby denied by AAP and this is the reason why he is yet to join the party. Also, his demand of ticket for his wife was also refused as the leaders of AAP mentioned that as the party’s constitution does not allow more than one member of the family to contest in the polls.

Sidhu in his press conference last month said that he resigned from Rajya Sabha as he was asked to keep away from Punjab.
