Mumbai: Indian singer Neeti Mohan who is a member of the Indian pop group Aasma said that she never thought of becoming a professional Bollywood singer.
Neeti who best known for songs like “Kheech Meri Photo”, “Jiya Re” and “Isha Wala Love” says, her sisters Shakti Mohan and Mukti Mohan showed faith in her talent.
The Delhi born 36-year-old singer, who appears as a coach on the popular children singing reality show “The Voice India Kids”, saw Srishti Rawat, a contestant who hails from Delhi, singing melody queen Lata Mangeshkar’s popular song “Lag jaa gale”, got nostalgic about her journey.
Neeti said in a statement, “When I heard Srishti singing, I got emotional and I got reminded of myself. I had gone through a flashback and recalled my struggling days in the industry.”
She further added, “I never thought that I will become a singer in my life. It was my family and my sisters, who had faith in me. It was my sisters’ idea to enroll me in a realty show and they were the ones who stood in the queue for the auditions.”
Neeti came into limelight after winning reality show “Popstars”. Apart from Neeti, “The Voice India Kids”, which is aired on &TV, also features singers Shekhar Ravjiani and Shaan as coaches.
