New Delhi: The website of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has posted document on its portal that the bank will soon issue new currency notes of Rs 50 and Rs 20 that will replace the existing one.
The new notes will carry the signature of Governor Urjit Patel and will not have inset letter in both the number plates in Rs 50 banknotes.
On other hand the Rs 20 note will have the insert letter L in both number panels and will carry Patel’s signature.
The security features of both banknotes will continue to be similar to the currency in circulation at present.
However, the old notes will continue to be valid and will be in use, said the RBI.
