No holiday in banks on Saturday and Sunday

New Delhi: The government of India said today that all banks weather it will be private sector or government will remain open on the coming Saturday and Sunday for convenience of people following its decision to banned currency notes of Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 denomination.




Economic Affairs Secretary Shaktikanta Das said in a tweet “For public convenience, banks will remain open on coming Saturday and Sunday.”

Prime Minister Narendra Modi had on yesterday announced demonetisation of currency notes of Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 denomination to tackle the menace of black money.
