Oncologist found murdered at residence in Egmore

Chennai: On Sunday, a known oncologist was found dead at her home in Egmore.

As per reports, 67-year-old Dr Rohini Premkumari was found murdered with her hands and legs tied with a rope. The deceased was attacked with an iron rod on her head. Also, her mouth was closed with a medical tape. Her body was found in the garden area of her residence.

The police officials investigating in the case said, “Around 10.30 am on Sunday, her mother Subhadra Nair (88), who can barely walk, was waiting for her food. When there was no response to her calls to Rohini, she called Mr Parameswaran (a relative) to come and check.”

On being interrogated the relatives of the victim said that Rohini had a dispute with a contractor some days back. As of now, the police is interrogating in the murder case.
