One militant killed during fresh gunfight in Kashmir valley

Srinagar: According to army officials, at least one militant was killed and two Indian soldiers were injured during a gunfight between the security forces and the militants today in south Kashmir’s Shopian district.

Army officials told media persons that gunfight started in wee hours today between militants and the security forces in Wangam village of Shopian district, nearly 70 km from capital city Srinagar.

The spokespersons said, “One militant was killed and two soldiers were injured in the encounter,” adding that the operation has ended and one AK-47 assault rifle was recovered from the gunfight site.
