Overloaded sand truck crushed five to death in Lko

At-least Five persons has been killed including four children’s and a women when a over loaded sand truck over turns on them while they were sleeping in the wee hours on Wednesday at Thakurganj area in Lucknow.

According to our media reports, Five persons, including four children, died when a truck laden with sand rammed into and toppled over two houses in the Thakurganj area here early this morning.

Police sources said those killed in the incident included a woman and four minors-three girls and a boy.

One girl suffered serious injuries and has been admitted into trauma center at a local hospital for treatment.

The mishap occurred around 5.15 am today when the driver of the vehicle apparently lost control and it crashed into the two houses in the locality. The truck was carrying the sand to a construction material shop in the area, they said.

The victims belonged to two families living in the two houses and died in their sleep, the sources said.

Police is investigating the incident and has arrested the truck driver, who fled from the scene. Police and emergency personnel rushed to the scene immediately and extricated the victims from the rubble with the help of local residents.

It is worth mentioned that in recent past, more then ten persons has been killed in such incident but
no government official is saying something and even minister Gyatri Prajapati is keeping their mouth silent in this regards.
