Pak: Two officials go missing in Afghanistan

Afghanistan: According to the information given by the reports, two Pakistani officials had gone missing from its consulate in Afghanistan since Friday.

As per the news reports, the Foreign Ministry said the officials went missing while commuting to Pakistan by road.

“The matter has been raised with the relevant Afghan authorities for their safety and recovery at the earliest,” the ministry said in a statement.

The Afghan authorities said three investigating groups had been set up to ensure their safe recovery.

“Pakistan has requested the Afghan government that all efforts may be made to ensure the early recovery of our officials,” a ministry spokesman said.

The Afghan Ambassador to Pakistan, Omar Zakhilwal, confirmed the incident.

Talking to the media, Zakhilwal went on to say: “Yes, I am aware of it and so are our relevant institutions. They are searching for the missing officials.”
