Parkash Singh Badal turns 89, birthday wishes gallore

Chandigarh: Wishes today poured in from all corners for the Chief Minister of Punjab, Parkash Singh Badal as he turns 89 today and has also become country’s oldest serving Chief Minister.

Badal has been greeted by his family members and close aides and will be seen addressing a big rally of the Shiromani Akali Dal and the Punjab government today evening in Moga district.

Parkash Singh Badal was born on December 8, 1927, at Abul Khurana village near Malout in southwest Punjab.

Badal has to his name the honor of being the Chief Minister five times i.e 1970-71, 1977-1980, 1997-2002, 2007-2012 and 2012 onwards.

Badal has been conferred with the Padma Vibhushan — the country’s second-highest civilian honour in 2015 by the Modi government.
