New Delhi: Petrol price was today hiked by a marginal 13 paise a litre while diesel rates were cut by 12 paise in line with global trends.

The nation’s biggest domestic fuel retailer Indian Oil Corp (IOC), has announced the revision in rates that excludes state levies (VAT) and the actual change in the prices will be done after considering them.

Now the petrol in Delhi will cost Rs 66.10 a litre from midnight tonight which is 17 paise more than Rs 65.93 a litre currently.

On other hand, diesel will cost Rs 54.57 a litre that is 14 paise lower than Rs 54.71 currently per litre.

Earlier, the prices of petrol and diesel were last revised on November 16th when rate went up by Rs 1.46 a litre and by Rs 1.53 per litre, excluding state levies.

According to a statement from IOC official, “The current level of international product prices of petrol and diesel and Rupee-US Dollar exchange rate warrant increase in selling price of petrol and decrease in selling prices of diesel, the impact of which is being passed on to the consumers with this price revision.”
