Maputo: On Thursday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi landed in Mozambique’s capital, Maputo. PM Modi who is on a five-day tour will also visit South Africa, Tanzania and Kenya.
He is the first PM from India to with the Southeast African nation in 36 years ever since former India PM Indira Gandhi’s visit in 1982. During visit, PM Modi will hold a meet with the which will be followed by delegation-level talks, a signing of agreements and an issue of a joint statement.
After the talks, PM will attend a state banquet which will be hosted by Nyusi. In the afternoon, PM will also visit the National Assembly where he would be introduced to the members. This will follow a meet with the President of the National Assembly Veronica Macamo and signing of visitor’s book.
During his visit, Narendra Modi will also visit the Maluana Science and Technology Park and the Centre for Innovation and Technological Development (CITD). Here he would interact with the students and also before leaving Maputo, he would address the Indian Diaspora. He will be visiting Pretoria, Johannesburg, Durban and Pietermaritzburg on Friday and Saturday.
Modi will leave for Dodoma from Durban on Saturday evening and after this he will leave for Nairobi, Kenya on Sunday in the evening.
