PM Modi to hold first-ever Town Hall with the nation as MyGov completes 2 years

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will today interact with the nation at an indoor stadium in the national capital. It will be first of its kind of Town Hall by an Indian PM. This comes at the time when the government’s citizen engagement platform ‘MyGov’ completes 2 successful years.

The event will be held at Indira Gandhi Stadium Complex, New Delhi from 9:30 am onwards. The Town Hall will have number of panel discussions.

At the event a new application will be launched which would allow the mobile users to connect directly with the PM’s Office.

Cabinet ministers, senior officers from Ministries and Departments, government organisations, representatives from media, IT and social media industry and citizens will be participating in the event.

‘MyGov’ was launched on July 26, 2014 by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. This platform has helped take governance to a new level because of participation by the people.

MyGov is based on the idea of ‘Do, Discuss, and Disseminate’. Keeping the idea intact, there will be sessions at the event to discuss on the various ideas.

Talking about the three sessions, the first will see a discussion on the Design Contests, Innovation Contests, eGreetings Contests, Volunteering, Poll and Survey functionalities of MyGov, the second will see the government officials from the various departments sitting alongside the MyGov contributors for a discussion on brain storming ideas and at the same time they will also share their experiences.

Third session will be of inviting new ideas so as to improve the user experience. Last would be based on the idea of dissemination and the session would comprise prominent media personalities, and senior ministers in the Union Government.
