Policemen arrested for supplying bullets to militants

Srinagar: Two Jammu and Kashmir policemen have been taken into custody today for providing bullets to militants in Shopian district.

Police constables Shabir Ahmad Malik and Nazir Ahmad were arrested after an over-ground worker of militants, Adil Ahmad, identified them. A checking party of the security forces arrested Ahmad in Shopian town. Twenty bullets of AK-47 rifle were recovered from him, police sources said.

On interrogation, the arrested militant revealed that he had received the bullets through a friend from police constable Malik. Malik in his turn, during interrogation, confirmed that constable Nazir Ahmad had given the bullets to him to be passed on to the militant.
