Pregnant woman beaten by upper caste people

Ahmedabad: In a shocking incident some upper caste people beaten up pregnant woman by entering into her house as her family members refused to clean animal carcasses in Gujrat’s Banaskantha district yesterday.

According to the police information, the family members of Nileshbhai Dhunabhai Ranavasia was thrashed by at least six people on Friday night just because of they refused to go to the field belong to attacker to clean and remove carcasses of the cattle in Mota Karaja village area from the Amirgadh taluka district.

The victim identified as Sangitaben was brutally thrashed by the six people on her abdomen and they also abused in the caste terms.

Ranavasia alleged in his complaint, “They abused me and thrashed me before entering our house and beaten up my pregnant wife Sangita on the abdomen and all over her body with sticks.”

The investigation officer told media persons, when they got the information they have reached the incident place and have arrested all the six accused.

A sections of Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act have also been invoked in the case against all the accused.
