Private chopper on joyride crashes in Mumbai, pilot killed

Mumbai: A pilot of a private helicopter was killed today along with three other were injured after they takes-off for a joyride which got crashed and erupted into a fireball at an isolated spot in the Mumbai suburb Goregaon.

According to an BMC Disaster Control officer, the helicopter, a Robinson R44 belonging to Aman Aviation Pvt Ltd, was on a sight-seeing flight over Mumbai when it suddenly crashed inside the forested Aarey Milk Colony and caught fire around 12.15 p.m.

Some witnesses said hundreds of people from nearby tribal village rushed to help the victims even as fire tenders rushed to the spot.

The victims along with the help of local people and police personnel take out from the burning chopper and rushed taken to the Seven Hills Hospital in Andheri East.

Hospital official told media persons, pilot Prafulkumar Mishra was declared dead brought dead, a co-pilot and two passengers including a woman are reported to be in critical condition.
