Pro-Khalistan leader Harminder Singh Mintoo and five others freed from Punjab jail by armed men

Chandigarh: According to the information given by the police, armed people attacked the high security Nabha Jail in Punjab and freed Khalistan Liberation Force terrorist Harminder Singh Mintoo. Police further added that there were five others who were freed as well.

Harminder Singh Mintoo was taken into custody in the year 2014 by Punjab Police in November and was wanted in 10 terror-related cases, including the 2008 attack on Sirsa-based Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh and 2010 recovery of explosives at Halwara Air Force station.

Five gangsters including one Vicky Gonder also fled along with Mintoo. Punjab police have announced a high alert across the state and on borders of Haryana, Jammu and Kashmir.
