Quake of intensity 6.3 strikes Peru

An earthquake of magnitude 6.3 today hit the Peruvian Andes at a depth of 28 km but there were no damages reported.

The quake’s epicenter was recorded at 45 km southwest of the municipality of Atico, in the region of Arequipa, reports Efe news.

The earthquake occurred at a depth of 28 km and was felt with strong intensity in Atico, and moderate intensity in the city of Arequipa, the second most populous city in Peru and capital of the eponymous region.
