‘Raees’ banned in Pak for its improper portrayal of Muslims

Mumbai: The Shah Rukh Khan starrer ‘Raees’, which was planned to hit the Pakistani theaters on Sunday but the next day that is on Monday it was banned for its improper portrayal of Muslims.

According to the sources, the Pakistan’s Central Censor Board decided not to release the film in country. On the other hand, rumors about the Shah Rukh-Mahira starrer ‘Raees’ releasing in Pakistan were a matter of talk for the past one week.

As per the information, the reason behind it was that, “the content undermines Islam, and a specific religious sect, (It also) portrays Muslims as criminals, wanted persons and terrorists.” Earlier the movie was in the limelight owing to the bad relations between India and Pakistan.

Following a ban on the Pakistani actors in India due to certain issues, Pakistani actress Mahira Khan was not able to promote her debut film in India.
