Rahul can step into Sonia’s shoes if she is feeling tired: Amarinder Singh

New Delhi: Punjab Congress chief Amarinder Singh today stated that that party vice president Rahul Gandhi can step into the shoes of Sonia Gandhi if she is feeling “tired” in leading the Congress.

“Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi can step into Sonia’s shoes if she feels that time has come for her to go and that she is tired of being at the helm of the party since 1997,” former Punjab chief minister and a sitting Lok Sabha MP from Amritsar, Amarinder Singh, said in an interview with leading news channel.

“I have worked very closely with Sonia ji and have always said this that she believes in the modern concept of management – give someone a task and back him to the hilt and if someone doesn’t perform he should perish,” Singh said.
