Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi has returned to Delhi subsequent to his foreign visit and is expected to meet some of the party leaders in the capital to have political talks with them ahead of polls.
Gandhi’s official Twitter handle @OfficeOfRG had tweeted that he would be travelling ‘over the next few days’ although it wasn’t clear where he was going.
Gandhi meeting with leader is seen as one of the crucial political meets ahead of election in five states. Uttar Pradesh is scheduled to go to polls from February 4.
Congress is combating to come back to power following ten years in Punjab and the leaders have been enthusiastically awaiting the return of Rahul Gnadhi so that the party could confirm its candidate list in 40 constituencies.
Talking to one of the prime newspapers, one of the leader seeking tickets stated: “Our camp was abuzz till yesterday that Rahul Gandhi would come back today but this has not happened. We have been told he is returning on January 9. This is shocking as when all other parties are in campaign mode, our senior leader is holidaying.”
