Rahul Gandhi meets party workers on birthday; PM Modi extends greetings

New Delhi: On the occasion of his 46th birthday, Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi met the party workers at the party headquarters in the national capital on Sunday. On arrival, the Gandhi scion was greeted with flowers, garlands and bouquets by his supporters.

Also, Prime Minister Narendra Modi greeted Rahul on Sunday morning on Twitter.

PM Modi wrote, “Birthday wishes to the Congress VP, Rahul Gandhi. May he be blessed with a long and healthy life.”

In his reply, Rahul wrote, “Thank you @narendramodi ji for your kind wishes.”

A source close to the Congress Party said that Rahul reached the party headquarters at 11:45 am and stayed there for almost one and a half hours and interacted with the workers. Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee chief Ajay Maken was also present.

Senior Congress leaders Ghulam Nabi Azad, Ahmed Patel, P. Chidambaram, Sheila Dikshit, Motilal Vora and Anand Sharma dropped in at Rahul residence to greet him.

Thanking everyone for their good wishes, the Gandhi scion took to Twitter and wrote,
“Thank you everyone for the warm birthday wishes! Grateful for the love & blessings.”
