Rahul Gandhi receives death threat; Congress leaders to meet Rajnath Singh

New Delhi: Ahead of the Assembly Elections in Puducherry, its Congress Unit received a letter threatening the life of party’s Vice President Rahul Gandhi. This threat comes a day before Rahul Gandhi address in Karaikal, Puducherry. Assembly Elections in the Union Territory are scheduled to be held on May 16.

The letter, written in Tamil, claims Congress has been responsible for ‘closure of industries in Puducherry’ and threatens that the Gandhi scion will be ‘blasted’ when he addresses rally in Karaikal.

A delegation of top Congress leaders will meet Home Minister Rajnath Singh at 3pm today to demand more security for Rahul Gandhi, who is protected by Special Protection Group (SPG). On condition of anonymity Congress leaders and senior home ministry officials confirmed both the facts – the assassination threat and the meeting with the Home Minister.
