Rahul Gandhi will not be in-charge of mission UP for Cong

Lucknow: Recently crowned The All India Congress Committee (AICC) in-charge of Uttar Pradesh ahead of election bound state in 2017, Gulam Nabi Azad said on Friday that Vice President Rahul Gandhi will not be made face of the state.

Azad further said that Congress will fight between ‘secular and communal forces’ in the state and also hope that Priyanka Gandhi will again campaign for party from outside for Amethi and Rai Bareli.

“It would be a fight of principles and a direct contest between secular and communal forces,” said the former Union Minister.

Azad told media persons, who lands in Lucknow to attend a reception by party workers for his welcome; he hold a day long interaction with senior party leaders and office bearers.

Speaking about Rahul Gandhi, he said that the youth face of the party will be elevated at the decided time and there was no question of making him the leader of UP.
