Rail traffic on Western Railway in Maharashtra interrupted following derailment of goods train

Mumbai: In the early hours of Monday, rail traffic on the Western Railway in Maharashtra came to a standstill after 11 wagons of a goods train derailed in Dahanu. As per reports, no casualties have been reported so far. Also, due to the derailment, all the long distance trains of Western Railways have been cancelled.

As of now, the restoration process in on. Also, the railway administration is trying to arrange extra buses with the help of district administration for the passengers if Valsad, Navsari and Palghar.

The list of trains that have been cancelled include – 12009 Mumbai Central- Ahmedabad Shatabdi Express, 19011 Mumbai Ahmedabad Express, 19215 Saurashtra Express and 09021 Bandra Jammu Tawi Express.

Apart from them, 12932 Ahmedabad-Mumbai Central AC Double Decker Express and 19032 Ahmedabad Haridwar Express are currently running late whereas the 16587 Yesvantpur Bikaner Express has been diverted.
