Rajasthan lawmaker’s son arrested for ramming BMW car into auto-rickshaw; three killed

Jaipur: On Friday, late in the night, the Rajasthan police detained son of Independent legislator Nand Kishor after his BMW car rammed into an auto-rickshaw in Jaipur, killing three people.

As per reports, the accident took place at 12 in the night yesterday. The police have arrested the accused Siddharth Mehariya and is in custody at the Ashok Nagar Thana, South.

In his statement to a daily, Mehariya said that he is not responsible for the accident but his driver. Medical tests of the Independent MLAs son confirm that he was under the influence of alcohol. Refuting to the same, he said, “The doctor gave me a clean chit in the hospital. We will get in touch with the families of the deceased and we are ready to help them.”

An FIR has been registered in the case.

Relative of one of the victim, Mahesh said, “We don’t know the entire details. It is being said that the accident happened by a BMW car, which had earlier hit the police PCR van and then hit the auto-rickshaw. They are saying that it belongs to an MLA.”
