Rajnath informs all political leaders about surgical strike at LoC

New Delhi: India’s Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh today informed prominent political leaders of opposition parties and Chief Ministers of the states about the surgical strike that was carried by the Indian army on terrorist’s launch pad across the Line of Control in Jammu and Kashmir during military operation.

The Home Minister also informed Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad and Communist Party of India (Marxist) General Secretary Sitaram Yechury.

The government has convened an all-party meeting in the capital on Thursday which will be addressed among others by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Rajnath was likely to brief leaders about internal security situation in the country durig the all-party meeting.

President Pranab Mukherjee and Vice President Hamid Ansari were also apprised about the strikes.

Pakistani military on Thursday started firing at Indian positions across the Line of Control (LoC) at Danesh and Lakshmi posts in Naugam sector, the Jammu and Kashmir Police said.

On other hand, Pakistan’s news channels have said that the exchange of fire began at 2.30 a.m. and continued till 8.00 a.m., leaving two Pakistani soldiers dead.
