RBI official arrested for illegally exchanging old notes worth Rs 1.50 crore

Bengaluru: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested on official of the Reserve Bank of India today for allegedly trying to exchange Rs 1.50 crore in old notes illegally.

According to CBI officials, “The agency has arrested an RBI official from Bengaluru for helping convert banned currency notes last week.”

The official said, “Two other private persons have also been arrested.”

The official added, the RBI official was involved in a case where he tried to exchange Rs 1.50 crore of untaxed money.
