UP receives ‘Rajat Kamal’ award for film promotion

Lucknow: On the occasion of the 64th National Film Awards Ceremony held in New Delhi in order to encourage the film industry, Uttar Pradesh was awarded the prestigious ‘Rajat Kamal’ award.

The Chief Secretary of tourism Avnish Awasthi received the award by President Pranab Mukherjee on behalf of the state government. Talking about encouragement of movie promotion in the state, Awasthi said that the state government will provide grant for all the films directed in the state.




He stated that many filmmakers have shown interest in directing their movies seeing the beautiful locations in the state and in order to help these makers the state have started providing Single Window System.




He further went on to say that they will soon organize Film Festival in the state and other than this the state will also establish Film Television Liberal Art Organization with the help of the National Film Television Organization situated in Pune.
