Mumbai: A week post Karni Sena attacked filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali and destroyed the sets of his movie ‘Padmavati’ in Jaipur, a BJP leader in Hoshangabad district of Madhya Pradesh Akhilesh Kandelwal announced a cash prize of Rs 10,000 to anyone who hurls shoe at Sanjay Leela Bhansali.

Akhilesh, the chairman of a civic body in Hoshangabad has posted on his Facebook wall by explaining that this reward is being announced per hit to Bhansali altering the historical facts of Rajasthan.

His post reads, “Sanjay Leela Bhansali ko jootey marney par Rs 10,000 rupiyey inaam. (Rs 10,000 reward to anyone who hurls a shoe at Sanjay Bhansali).” The Rajput organisations have blamed Bhansali of altering the history by showing a romantic dream sequence between Rani Padmavati and Muslim leader Alauddin Khilji in his forthcoming movie.

However, Bhansali productions clarified that there is no such offensive sequence in the movie starring Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh. While talking to the media Akhilesh said that he was not sorry for whatever happened and went on to say that: “I am hurt by the distortion of history by the filmmaker. Playing with our history like this can never be tolerated.”
