Sacked AAP minister Sandeep Kumar sent to 14-day judicial custody

New Delhi: Sacked AAP minister Sandeep Kumar was today sent to 14 days custody by the court. Sandeep Kumar was earlier arrested on charges of rape on a complaint by a woman who figured in a video with him.

Special Judge Poonam Chaudhary remanded Kumar in judicial custody till September 23 after he was presented before her on expiry of his police custody. The police told court that the accused was not required for further custodial interrogation.

The former Social Welfare and Women and Child Development Minister was booked under sections 376 (punishment for rape) and 328 (causing hurt by means of poison, with intent to commit an offence) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
