Sample was tampered: Inderjeet Singh on Dope Test

New Delhi: After wrestler Narsingh Yadav, another sportsman has yet again failed in the dope test. As per reports, shot-putter Inderjeet Singh failed in a doping test.

Being the first Indian athlete to make it to Rio Olympics underwent a dope test on June 22 and was tested positive of a banned steroid as per National Anti-Doping Agency. However, the 28-year-old calls it a conspiracy.

In his interview to a leading news channel, Inderjeet said, “It’s a conspiracy. There is something wrong. In this country, from Bhagat Singh to Inderjeet, everybody has to suffer for being outspoken.”

Also, he went on to attack the authorities for never supporting him, Inderjeet said that he kept on asking them for help which he never received and now when he was trying to show them that he could win a medal on his own, they are trying to suppress him.

He added, “I was one of the top contenders. Everybody feared that if this guy won a medal, he would create a lot of problem. I used to speak for Indian athletes everywhere about the way they are treated. They do not get sponsors. Some other people misuse the sponsors of the athletes.”

Inderjeet also said that his sample was tampered and it really upsets him as it comes at the time of Rio Olympics.
