Saudi Arabia Interior Ministry says Jeddah suicide bomber was Pakistani

Riyadh: On Monday, the Interior Ministry of Saudi Arabia stated that the bombing which took place close to the American consulate in Jeddah on the occasion of US Independence Day was carried out by a Pakistan resident.

As per reports, two security officers were injured in the bombing. Also, the attacker has been identified as 35-year-old Abdullah Waqar Khan. He was a chauffeur who was living in Jeddah with his wife and her parents for the past 12 years.

On Tuesday, Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif condemned the attacks in Saudi Arabia and talked about taking immediate international co-operation against the growing terrorism.

This attack comes amid the series of attacks including that in Baghdad which claimed lives of 200 people, in Bangladesh and at the Istanbul airport. All these attacks were claimed by the terror group ISIS.

On Monday, in a suicide bombing outside the Prophet’s Mosque in Medina, four security personnel were killed whereas five others were severely injured. Also, in Qarif, at least one explosion was heard near the Shiite Mosque. The eastern city is home to the Shiite Minority.
