New Delhi: The apex court today stated that it will be hearing the Jallikattu matter on January 31 after the Central filed an appeal seeking to withdrawal the January 6 notice allowing the bull taming sport Jallikattu in Tamil Nadu.

Justice Dipak Misra said that the matter will be heard in the court on Tuesday and made allowance for all the applications related to Jallikattu to be filed in the court.

On January 25, the Animal Welfare Board of India had challenged the new Tamil Nadu law performed to allow Jallikattu during Pongal festival. The appeal was filed for urgent hearing before the Supreme Court which had asked the Animal Welfare Board to lodge their applications.
