Seven blasts in Assam, miraculous escape for people

Guwahati: According to Assam Police DGP Mileage Sahay, in an incident that took place in Assam today where a group of children proceeding towards the Republic Day celebration at Dibrugarh had a fortunate escape when a bomb exploded in front of them but the low intensity blast caused no injuries to anyone.

The outfit carried out as many as seven blasts in three districts within a span of hours but miraculously no one has been injured at any place.




The blasts took place at around 8.20 am at two places one at a field and the other nearby petrol pump. The next two blasts were carried out 20 minutes later at Nazira.

The sixth blast occurred an hour later at Dibrugarh, about 500 metres away from the parade ground. The seventh blast occurred near a pillar of an under construction bridge over Brahmaputra river in Tinsukia district. But there were no injuries reported and miraculously everyone escaped from the disaster.
