Sharp decline in Narendra Modi’s followers on Twitter

New Delhi Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Twitter account witnessed a sharp decline of near about three lakhs followers recently after he announced banning of Indian currency notes of Rs 500 and Rs 1,000.

Soon after few days Prime Minister announced demonetisation of Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 notes, his twitter account seems to have lost over three lakh followers.

According to Twitter counter, Modi Twitter handle lost 3,13,312 followers a day after the announcement was made.

Modi, who tweets from @narendramodi, has over 24 million followers on the social platform.

The Prime Minister on November 8 announced that Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 currency notes will cease to be legal tender from midnight as part of sweeping steps to check black money.

The Prime Minister on Tuesday 8th addressed nation on televised in which he said that all the 500 and 1,000 denomination notes can be deposited in banks and post offices between November 10 and December 30.
