Shoaib Akhtar turns down blames of Harbhajan

Islamabad: Pakistani former pace bowler Shoaib Akhtar today slammed and termed it as “joke” of claims of Indian off-spinner Harbhajan Singh that he beat Singh and batsman Yuvraj Singh.

The 40-years-old while reacting to Harbhajan’s claims said that the Indian player overstated the whole thing and it was just a small incident between three of them during friendly are wrestling.

Akhtar was quoted saying to a news channel, “I am friends with both Harbhajan and Yuvraj and whatever happened in Islamabad hotel room was a joke.”

“Harbhajan exaggerated the whole story as despite being an aggressive player, it is not in my nature to beat my juniors. It was an incident of arm-wrestling.”

Previously, Harbhajan said during an interview that Akhtar hit him and Yuvraj during their tour of Pakistan in 2004.
