Shutdown for 63rd day in Kashmir Valley

Srinagar: Curfew and restrictions were imposed in Srinagar and other parts of Kashmir Valley by the authorities to prevent post Friday prayer protests as normal life remains affected for the 63rd consecutive day.

As per the information given by the officials, there was no curfew anywhere in the valley but restrictions curbing all pedestrian and traffic movement except that of essential services were imposed in Srinagar. Similar restrictions have been imposed in all other nine districts of the valley besides some other law and order vulnerable towns.

Normal life continued to remain affected in the Kashmir Valley as educational institutions, main markets, public transport as well as other businesses were closed.
