Sidhu was forced to leave BJP: Navjot Kaur Sidhu

New Delhi: Media reports yesterday created a stir within the political arena after reports surfaced that senior BJP leader Navjot Kaur Sidhu has quit the party and resigned from Rajya Sabha. Also, there were reports that he would join Arvind Kejriwal-led Aam Aadmi Party and is expected to be the CM face in the Punjab polls as the party needs a strong contender here so as to win in the elections. However, a confirmation on the same from Sidhu and his wife Navjot Kaur Sidhu was awaited.

As of now, in a statement to a leading news channel, Sidhu’s wife Navjot confirmed him leaving BJP as she said that resigning from Rajya Sabha clearly means that he has left the party. Adding further she said that Sidhu was being forced to leave BJP and that for now he does not need the support of BJP’s alliance Akali Dal in Punjab.

On being questioned that if Sidhu was joining AAP, she said that Sidhu takes all the decisions wisely and if there is something like this he would have definitely thought about it. She went on to say that for now, Sidhu’s motive is to serve Punjab and that she is quite unhappy with the way the government has worked in the state.

Also, Navjot Kaur went on to praise AAP Chief Arvind Kejriwal by saying that she likes some of the work done by him.

In the end, Navjot Kaur said that she is very well in BJP and has not quit the party because politics is not a profession for her.
