Sonia Gandhi tags AIADMK as “anti-people” and “anti-farmer”

Chennai: Congress president Sonia Gandhi today stated that the Tamil Nadu’s ruling AIADMK is “anti-people” and “anti-farmer” as they didn’t provided the assistance in times of need.

Addressing an election rally here, Gandhi, who shared the dais with DMK president M.Karunanidhi, said neither the Jayalalithaa government nor the AIADMK came to the help of the people when the capital city faced floods.

“It was the people who helped each other,” she said.

Congress president further went on to say that contrary to the assurance given by union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley that flood insurance claims will be settled in four weeks time, they are still pending to be settled by the insurers.
