Stuart Broad may replace James Anderson in Chennai Test

Chennai: England fast bowler James Anderson who is having injury in his left shoulder has been ruled out of fifth and final Test against the host India to be played at Chennai from tomorrow.

The captain of the England cricket team Alastair Cook said Anderson has been struggling throughout the series against India.

He said that Anderson has only taken four wickets from the past two matches as he is coming back from shoulder injury.

Although, Cook said that England team is pleased with the fitness of another pacer Stuart Broad, who is also recovering from foot injury.

England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) reported on its twitter account, “Alastair Cook has confirmed @jimmy9 will miss out in Chennai due to stiffness but @StyartBoard8 is back in contention #INDvENG.”

The ECB in another tweet mentioned, “Cook: “Broady is fit & has a chance. He bowled at a local ground yesterday. It’s great to have him back.”

The 34-year-old Anderson is one of most experienced bowler in England team who has 467 wickets in 122 Test matches.

Interestingly, England team after the opening draw game has lost three consecutive matches in the five matches Paytm Test series against the host India.
