Subhash Chandra elected to Rajya Sabha

Chandigarh: Subhash Chandra who is a well known Media baron was today elected to the Rajya Sabha from Haryana.

Chandra, an independent candidate supported by the BJP, scraped through amid political drama during the vote count. Union minister Birender Singh was also elected to the Rajya Sabha. He secured 40 votes.

Assembly sources said 13 votes of Congress legislators were rejected following Saturday’s polling. He defeated Delhi-based lawyer and INLD supported candidate R.K. Anand.
