Swamy attacks Rajan again, urges Modi to remove him from post

New Delhi: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP Subramanian Swamy today urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to remove Raghuram Rajan from the post of Reserve Bank of India (RBI) Governor.

Swamy laid emphasis on six objections against Rajan and his conduct as a “government official” in a letter to the prime minister.

Swamy took a dig at Rajan for hiking interest rates which, according to him, led to recession; sending ‘confidential and sensitive’ financial information to various persons around the world.

Swamy further objected Rajan of holding a US green card despite holding a sensitive and very high government of India post. Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP has been repeatedly attacking Rajan subsequent to his nomination to the Rajya Sabha last month.
