Target is Jaitely not Arvind: Digvijay Singh on Subramaniam’s call for Economic Advisor’s sacking

New Delhi: On Wednesday, BJP MP Subramaniam Swamy called for the removal of Chief Economic Advisor Arvind Subrmaniam from the post, following which Congress leader Digvijay Singh said that the real target is Finance Minister Arun Jaitley and not Arvind.

Singh took to Twitter and wrote, “Subramaniam Swami now guns for Arvind Subramanian Economic Advisor to NDA. Target is Arun Jaitley not Arvind Subramanian.”

Along with this, the Congress leader wondered if PM Narendra Modi was all prepared to hand over the command of the Finance Department to Swamy. Subramaniam was recently appointed as the member of the Upper House.

Singh’s reaction comes after Swamy supposedly accused Arvind Subramanian of working against the interest of the country and hence demanded his removal.

Hitting on Arvind, the BJP leader wrote, “Who said to US Cong on 13/3/13 the US should act against India to defend US Pharmaceuticals interests? Arvind Subramanian MoF !! Sack him!!!”

“Guess who encouraged Congi to become rigid on GST clauses ? Jaitely’s economic adviser Arvind Subramanian of Washington DC.”

This is not the first time when Swamy has attacked someone in the government as some time back he called RBI Governor Raghuram Rajan a Congress agent and said that he put small and medium industries out of business.
