Teenage girl raped in toilet at transit camp

New Delhi: In a shocking and shameful incident, a teenage girl was sexually assaulted by two youths when she was inside a public toilet of a transit camp in central Delhi’s Anand Prabat area recently.

According to police reports, the incident took place on December 31th when the girl was on her way to purchase some grocery and had visited public toilet.

Police said, the youths entered the toilet and allegedly sexually assaulted her and escaped the crime scene, among the culprits there was a juvenile.

Later, they threatened the girl with horrible outcome if she revealed the subject to anyone. Under pressure girl did not inform about the incident to any of the family members.

But after few days when girl complained about pain in her stomach she was taken to hospital where medical examination confirmed reports of sexual assault.

The victim has identified the accused and a case has been registered with the police in this regards under section 376 (punishment for rape) of IPC and provisions of Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act has been registered.

The accused are known to the victim since they all lived in Kathputli Colony area before they were relocated to the transit camp as part of the Kathputli Colony relocation drive.
