Two mishaps ward off in Goa, IGI airports

New Delhi: A couple of incidents which might have turned disastrous for many people were today averted as an Indigo and a SpiceJet BSE- 2.59% aircraft face-to-face on the Delhi runway while in Goa, a Jet Airways BSE- 1.04% flight veered off injuring about 15 passengers.

While talking to the media, Indigo spokesperson Ajay Jesra went on to say that: “An Indigo flight 6C-729, which was coming from Lucknow to Delhi with 176 passenger on board, post landing on the taxi way saw a SpiceJet aircraft in front of it.”

Jesra further added that: “The incident occurred on Tuesday morning and the matter has been reported to Air Traffic Control (ATC) and the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA).”

The incident on the Goa airport took place at around 5am; the flight had arrived from Dubai was bound for Mumbai, when was about to take off when it slipped off the runway.

An eyewitness said that when the migration of the flight was under process, the aircraft tilted forward causing fear among the passengers inside the aircraft. While the Navy sources said that 15 passengers suffered from fractures and minor injuries in the incident.
