UP CM Akhilesh Yadav-led SP has come a long way, riding ‘cycle’: Highlights

Lucknow: In 2012, Mulayam Singh Yadav-led Samajwadi Party emerged victorious following which Akhilesh Yadav was named as the CM of the state. It came as a surprise for all, as little did the state knew about this star who was going to stud the state to its epitome.

With almost a year to go for 2017 Assembly elections, the entire state is canvassing the actions of Akhilesh Yadav, magnified under a close vigil. It is an undeniable fact that, under the leadership of Akhilesh Yadav, Uttar Pradesh has witnessed an equitable growth ramified in all sections of the societies. But, the rising cases of violence, rapes, communal aggression, riots distorted the image of Akhilesh Yadav thus stressing his ‘inability’ to ensure Law and Order in the state, including the rumors which affirm him to be inclined towards the minority, eventually making way to an unsolicited clutter for the party.

Several schemes have been enunciated and promoted by the party during its tenure.

Some are highlighted below:

Free Laptop Distribution: It was a commendable attempt from SP government to promote the importance of Education among children in Uttar Pradesh. Around 1.5 million laptops were distributed via this scheme.

Lucknow Metro Project: This rapid transit system set up is estimated to be the most expensive public transport system in the state of Uttar Pradesh. Lucknow Metro Rail Corporation Limited (LMRC) is accountable for construction, operation and management of this rail network. This project will augment the convenience of the public to several folds thus, reducing the traffic congestion problems considerably. Though, currently under construction, it has already been adjudged as ‘Best metro for excellence in innovative designs’ and awarded the International summit (IQS) Award in New York.

Lucknow Agra Expressway: This is the most awaited project of 2016 and has massive expectations of Samajwadi Party attached to it. Currently under construction, it has a stretch of 302 kms, being constructed by the Uttar Pradesh Expressways Industrial Development Authority. It promises to reduce traffic congestions and Carbon emitted pollution significantly. This expressway will reduce the distance between the cities of Agra and Lucknow. Initially it comprises of a 6-lane expressway which will be expandable upto 8 lanes, in future.

Samajwadi Pension Yojna: This scheme replaced Rani Laxmi Bai pension Yojna. Samajwadi Pension Yojna is one of the pension schemes of the government launched to encourage savings among people living below poverty line (targeted for nearly 40 lakh rural people) and provide them with financial assistance. Under this scheme all the eligible beneficiaries have to register online for this scheme, considering which, the beneficiaries will get Rs 500 each. On May 25 this year, this amount was raised to Rs 750.

Women Power Line (1090): SP haa truly lived by the dictum of ‘Women Empowerment’ by introducing IVRS based dedicated service in Uttar Pradesh. This helpline number ‘1090’ is successful enough to be on a speed dial list of any women’s handset. It has immensely contributed towards making women feel more secured and thereby encourages them to raise their voices against any mental or physical harassment. This helpline no. takes care of the cases of offense against women and girls and reaches them in a shortest duration once they get their call for help.

Chief Minister Employment Generation Program (CMEGP): This scheme is one of its kinds to give ‘direct financial assistance’ from government to the traders, in order to generate more entrepreneurs. Recent development in this scheme could be seen when Akhilesh Yadav announced the plan of launching ‘Mahila Bazzar’ to promote women entrepreneurs and was seen felicitating current women entrepreneurs for their achievement.

Samajwadi Party Awas Yojna: Akhilesh Yadav has made several dreams of lower middle class and middle class come true by launching these affordable housing schemes from Vivanta by Taj. The state government has set a target of building two lakh houses under the scheme by 2016. CM Akhilesh Yadav stressed on ensuring quality houses, with earthquake resistance construction.

Lucknow International Cricket Stadium: Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav declared Lucknow to become a state-of-art by announcing the launch of an international Cricket Stadium to be due by the first quarter of 2017.

This stadium along with the sports complex is estimated to be build up in 65 acres of land of real state development zone in area of Mastemau and Ardaunamau villages near the chek Gajaria, Lucknow-Sultanpur road.
