UP is one of the worst performers in rural sanitation

Lucknow: Rural households in UP were found to have the least access to toilets.

In the BJP-ruled UP, only 37% of the rural households had access to toilets.

To their defence, BJP is saying that it is not even six months since they have come to power in UP and with the kind of efforts CM Yogi Adityanath is putting in with regard to sanitation and cleanliness, things are surely going to improve in a big way in the coming days.

Although, CM is proactive in this regard but it remains to be seen how much help he is going to get from the bureaucracy in the implementation side of thing and that is where it can get tricky.

States such as Sikkim, Manipur and Nagaland were found to have far better sanitation facilities. As a matter of fact, more than 90% of the rural households in these states were found to have access to toilets.
