Vijay Rupani emerges as top choice for next Gujarat CM during BJP’s Parliamentary meet

New Delhi: Today, BJP’s Parliamentary Board called for a meet at Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s official residence, 7RCR so as to finalize on the next Gujarat CM. This comes following resignation from Anandibhen Patel who while putting forth her resignation said that it was now time for some new leader to step in her shoes as she is going to turn 75.

The meet today was held at 9 am today.

As per reports, Shah wants Gujarat BJP chief, Vijay Rupani to be made the next CM of Gujarat. Also, he is the first choice for the post. Reportedly RSS has asked the BJP to keep few points in mind while choosing the next CM of Gujarat. RSS said that Gujarat Polls are more important than those in UP so the decision should be made keeping this in mind. Also, the final take on the same would be given by Shah.

On questions of BJP President Amit Shah taking charge as the new CM, Venkaiah Naidu said, that there is no question of Shah becoming the CM as the party wants him to lead the national politics.

Soon after the meet, Union Minister Venkaih Naidu said that Anandibhen has set an example for other and has done some good work towards Gujarat’s development. For now, Shah will remain the BJP President.

Nitin Gadkari and Saroj Pandey will go to Gujarat as observers and hold meet to take decision on the next CM.
